The Prevadu Full-Body MRI is designed to complement — not replace — other essential screening methods such as colonoscopy, Pap smears, or low-dose chest CT for individuals at high risk.
1. Detection Limitations
While the scan can detect a wide range of abnormalities, it may not identify very small tumors that resemble surrounding healthy tissue. Typically, lesions are detectable once they reach approximately one centimeter in size, though this can vary by body region — being smaller in the brain and larger in the chest.
2. Mucosal Surface Conditions
The scan may not capture conditions affecting mucosal surfaces such as the mouth, throat, nasal passages, or gastrointestinal tract.
3. Cardiac and Pulmonary Scope
The exam does not assess the heart or coronary vessels, nor does it provide detailed imaging of the lungs at the micro level or detect pulmonary micronodules. It is also not a substitute for breast-specific imaging like mammography or contrast-enhanced MRI.
4. Gastrointestinal Limitations
The scan is limited in evaluating the gastrointestinal tract and cannot replace procedures such as endoscopy or colonoscopy for detecting issues like polyps.
5. Musculoskeletal and Skin Evaluation
Joint structures such as ligaments, cartilage, and menisci are not fully evaluated. The skin also requires a direct physical examination for accurate assessment.
6. General Disclaimer
As with any screening method, certain conditions may go undetected. This scan is not intended to replace targeted diagnostic imaging when specific medical concerns are present.
